Lazy or Unassuming

Lover, aka Jazz

I had to let my dear friend go yesterday. Jazz, my cat, has been with me for almost 15 very eventful years.  A lot of people didn’t understand my Jazz, what did she ”do” really? All she had to, she cuddled up to me and helped me sleep. She taught me to relax and appreciate some pretty important things, food, the sun and lying around. For someone as wired as me I couldn’t have asked for a better being to emulate.

She was very sick, I have to remind myself, but no matter how sick your friend is, it is an excruciating decision, especially when the friend can’t tell you what they want. I do know that she would have liked to leave this life with dignity and looking good; she did, the vet was great and made sure to tell her she looked beautiful.

Thank you Jazz, for all the comfort and purrs, for the daily reminder that no matter how chaotic or bad things seem, curling up in a sunny place for a nap will always make it better.

Love, your human
